Casa de los Angeles is a community of caring people who gather to nurture children, serving the needs of the less fortunate, treating each person with dignity and respect as they work to make a better life for themselves and the community as a whole.

Bank of America Chicago Marathon Twenty-five runners supported Casa de los Angeles in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.  We are grateful for their participation.  To see how our team did or to make a donation in the name of one of our runners click here.

Grand Opening of Our New Center!

It’s real!  Casa de los Angeles now has two locations.  We celebrated the grand opening of our second center on Saturday, August 9 with a spectacular evening of food, dancing, kind words . . . and a rocking chair auction.  All that was rolled into an evening to remember. 

We were happy to have as our special guests Bob Signorella and Kevin O’Donnell, president and vice-president of our Board of Directors in the United States.  Other special guests included Nash Ogden of the Peachtree Rotary Club in Atlanta, Georgia; David Bossman, President, Merle Howard, Past President and other members of the San Miguel English Speaking Rotary Club.  These two rotary clubs united to donate all of the furnishings of our new center.  How special it was to have volunteers from Cross of Glory Church.  Cross of Glory is the faith community that has had confidence in us since the very first day.  Pastor PJ Malin sang the song he wrote especially for us.  Finally, our ribbon cutter was Sra. Teresita Landin, the woman who donated the land that our new center is built on. 

More than anything, while the opening was spectacular, it was even better to see little ones being cared for on Monday!  AND, to see our big kids use the computers donated by Bill Curra & Neel Ackerman of Computadoras Pro Jovenes.   Click here for pictures of the construction and the opening event.

Donations can be directed towards specific needs or programs (food, vitamins, classroom supplies, construction, administrative cost staff salaries, medical care, special events, the marathon, Angeles y Milagros and the endowment).  If you want to designate to something specific, please simply note it on your check.  If making a PayPal donation, please send us an email to let us know how you want the donation to be designated.

The Endowment for Casa de los Angeles

In October 2007 The Endowment for Casa de los Angeles was established.  Many people want to ensure that Casa's work continues for many, many years into the future.  Donors are welcome to direct funds towards The Endowment at any time, but the primary source of funding is the annual "Angeles y Milagros" dinner event.  60% of all undirected funds received through the dinner are directed to The Endowment.
